A United States marine and a medic were killed in a drone strike. This was the first recorded accident involving friendly-fire deaths from drone craft. Details of the incident are murky. Even though commanders in Afghanistan were unable verify the identity of the targets in the surveillance video, the strike was ordered. The unfortunate accident was blamed on miscommunication. No people were charged.
