Political Correctness Gone Overboard: Elementary Schooler Got Suspension for Calling Teacher "Cute"
In Gaston County, North Carolina, an elementary school teacher took exception to a student's comment directed at her. Emanyea, a nine-year-old student at Brookside Elementary School, called his teacher "cute". That innocuous statement was interpreted as sexual harassment by the teacher and he was subsequently suspended for two days. Gaston County officials confirmed that the statements were "inappropriate". Chiquita Lockett, the boy's mom, was perplexed as to why he was suspended.
