Charlene Ferrero Dies After Sleepwalking into Lake and Drowning
Sleepwalkers have been known to do many strange things and totally forgetting about them afterwards, such as defecating publicly in the streets. Sometimes it can be fatal. Charlene Ferrero was a fifty-five-year-old woman who had a sleepwalking problem since she was a child. A few nights ago, her latest sleepwalking episode became fatal when she drowned in a lake after falling from a train trestle. She had gone out from her apartment in the middle of the night and unwittingly walked to her own death. Neighbors had reported to the police of a suspicious woman walking zombie-like in the streets, but apparently nothing was done. Teresa Cerini, Ferrero's neighbor, had encountered Ferroro that night, but did nothing to stop the dangerous sleepwalking. It wasn't until early next morning that her body was found floating up in the lake.
Sleepwalking has been blamed on genetics and sleeping pills such as Ambien. However, there's no conclusive evidence linking to either theories. There has yet to be a scientific explanation for this kind of behavior.
